What to Do After Creating Your VPSGrid Account
Short answerAfter registration: confirm your email, complete account details, add a payment method, review security settings, then order your first VPS or browse add-on services. VPSGrid plans are unmanaged — you administer the guest OS after provisioning.
Overview
Use this checklist right after you create a VPSGrid account at billing.vpsgrid.net. It covers account setup only — not day-one server administration (see First-Day Checklist for a New VPS after your VPS is active).
1) Confirm your email address
- Check the inbox for the address you registered with (and spam/junk folders)
- Open the VPSGrid verification email and follow the confirmation link
- If the email is missing after several minutes, use the resend option on the login page or open a ticket
Important billing and provisioning notices are sent to your account email.
2) Complete account details
- Log in to the client area
- Open Account → Account Details (or your profile menu)
- Verify name, company (if applicable), address, and phone
- Correct typos now — they appear on invoices and domain/WHOIS records when applicable
Profile changes: How to Change Account Details.
3) Add a payment method
- Go to Billing → Payment Methods (wording may appear as Manage Payment Methods)
- Add a card or supported wallet before your first order when possible
- Keep at least one valid method on file for renewals

4) Review security settings
- Use a strong, unique password for the client area (not reused from other sites)
- Enable two-factor authentication if offered on your account
- Store recovery codes or backup access safely
- Do not share client-area credentials with third-party contractors without a separate plan
5) Order your first VPS (or browse add-ons)
- From the client area home page or store, choose a Linux or Windows VPS plan at vpsgrid.net / billing store
- Select OS template, hostname, billing cycle, and any configurable options
- Complete checkout and pay the invoice
- Watch for the welcome / VPS Ready email with primary IP and login details

6) Know what happens next
- Provisioning usually completes within minutes — Understanding the VPS Provisioning Process
- After Active, follow the first-day VPS checklist and OS-specific getting-started guides
- Optional add-ons (SSL, backups, email suites, site builders) can be ordered separately via MarketConnect — MarketConnect Services Overview
Important notes
- VPSGrid provides unmanaged VPS hosting — support assists with platform/billing issues; guest OS administration is your responsibility unless a separate managed product applies
- Windows VPS plans typically require BYOL licensing — Windows VPS Licensing Requirements
- Plan specs and pricing are shown at checkout — this article does not publish fixed prices
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to add a payment method before ordering?
You can often pay at checkout without saving a card first, but storing a valid payment method helps renewals run smoothly.
I verified email but cannot log in
Use the password reset link on the login page. If the account still fails, open a ticket with the registered email address.
Should I order a domain at the same time?
Not required. You can register or transfer a domain separately and point DNS to your VPS IP later — How to Point a Domain to a VPS.
